System Requirements

Before installing WowRecommend, make sure your WordPress and WooCommerce environment meets the following requirements. This helps ensure recommendations, analytics, AI features, and other plugin functionality work properly.

WordPress and WooCommerce Version

Minimum WordPress version: 6.0 or higher
Minimum WooCommerce version: 8.0 or higher

Using the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce is recommended for better compatibility, security, and performance.

For AI Chat Recommendation: WordPress 7.0 or higher is required to use the WordPress AI Client and Connectors system. Other WowRecommend features, including manual recommendations and Guided Steps, do not require an AI connection.

PHP Version

Minimum required: PHP 7.4
Recommended: PHP 8.0 or higher

Using a supported PHP version helps prevent compatibility and performance issues.

Database Requirements

WowRecommend follows the standard WordPress database requirements:

MySQL 5.6 or higher
MariaDB 10.1 or higher

Memory Limit

Recommended WordPress memory limit: 256 MB or higher

Stores with large product catalogs, multiple recommendation rules, or extensive analytics data may benefit from a higher memory limit.

AI Recommendation Requirements

The AI Chat Recommendation feature uses the WordPress AI Client and Connectors system rather than a separate API configuration within WowRecommend.

To use natural-language AI Chat, you need:

WordPress 7.0 or higher
A compatible AI connector plugin
An API key from a supported AI provider
An active AI provider connection under Settings → Connectors

You can still create recommendations manually or use Guided Steps without connecting an AI provider.

Internet Explorer is not supported.

HTTPS Support

WowRecommend supports both HTTP and HTTPS environments. However, HTTPS is strongly recommended, especially when using WooCommerce, analytics, and external AI provider connections.
